Cameron Steele brings 13 years of investment and operational experience to San Francisco Equity Partners, focusing in the past eight years on extensive work with expansion-stage technology companies, as both an advisor and an investor. Cameron serves on the board of directors of The Guild and Modviz, and works closely with Penguin Computing and Luxury Link.
Before joining SFEP, Cameron spent seven years on Wall Street, in active portfolio management and advisory roles. Most recently, he was a Vice President and Technology Equity Analyst for McMorgan & Company, supporting an actively managed $5 billion equity portfolio.
Cameron spent six years with RBC Capital Markets as Managing Director and Equity Research Analyst covering the enterprise software market. During his tenure at RBC and its predecessor firms, he covered over thirty software companies, including Intuit, Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, and Siebel Systems. He wrote extensively on the software industry, technology trends, business model development, and company valuation, and acted as a trusted advisor to institutional investors and company management teams.
Prior to his career on Wall Street, Cameron worked as a Product Manager at Verity, Inc. and spent four years at Oracle Corporation, where he was a Manager in the company's Domestic Finance and Sales Operations Group.
Cameron received his BA in Political Science from Stanford University and holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and two daughters.
